Inspirational jars

It is easy to find canvases with inspirational quotes or to make them yourself. But once there is no space on your walls left to hang them what are you going to do?

It is simple.

Make inspiration Mason jars. This craft is easy to do and cute! The Mason jars can be placed anywhere. You can put them on your desk, dresser or shelf. They can serve as a simple decoration or can hold pens/pencils and act as an organizer.

The first thing that you will need to do is pick out a quote you want to use. I would suggest a motto that you live your life by. I always like to think positively so I decide to use the phrase “stay positive”. If you have trouble thinking of a phrase to use click on the link below for some ideas!

What you need for this DIY project is listed below.

  • 1 paint brush
  • 2 Mason jars
  • 2 small bottles of different color paint
  • 1 pencil
  • 1 spool of white or colored ribbon is optional

First you will paint the outside of the Mason jars with whatever color paint you desire. I picked red and blue because they are my favorite.

Once the jars have dried, paint the inside of the Mason jar with the opposite color that you used on the outside. For example, I painted the outside of one jar red so I painted the inside of it blue. Do this for both jars.

If you decided to paint the outside of both jars the same color then paint the inside of the jars with a different color.

After, take your pencil and scratch out the paint on the outside of the jar with the phrase you want to use. As you remove the paint to write the word you should see the color paint of the inside of the jar appear. Since I used the phrase “stay positive”, I wrote stay on one jar and positive on the other. Try to space out the words of your quote equally on each jar.

Now that you have completed this step you DIY project is complete! You can tie ribbon around the top of the Mason Jar to make it look fancier. Place the jars in an area where you can see it for daily inspiration!
